WARNING! - DO NOT COME ANY CLOSER!!

The rich vegetation and wide spread water supply of the Okavango Delta sustain one of the largest concentrations of elephants in Africa. This young male reacted to the approach of our boat by opening its ears in order to appear larger, smelling the air (us) in order to identify the intruder(s), and a minute later, hitting the water with its trunk and with violent, lateral head shakings; clearly letting us know that he was not pleased with our presence. Shortly after that he opted to move away to another spot to continue eating in peace, not that he had in doubt the results of a confrontation with us if he so decided to engage in it; but as an inteligent species, it decided for a peaceful resolution.
